Kohli, Gavaskar & what social media's done to cricket

It is a sign of the times we live in that self-proclaimed cricket lovers on X and Instagram are not just asking who Sunil Gavaskar is, they're suggesting he has no locus standi to comment on Twenty20 cricket. It is pointless trying to list Gavaskar's achievements as a player, the positions he has held in cricket since and a near lifetime spent as a broadcaster. Because those who choose to believe he does not have the credentials to comment are not going to change their minds. Why let facts get in the way of a robustly held opinion that powers trolling? Suffice it to say that what Gavaskar doesn't know about batting, in particular, and cricket, in general, is not worth knowing.
